Water Main Break May Lead To Lane Closures On I-87 In Westchester

There may be lane closures on the New York State Thruway following a possible water main break in Yonkers.

The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, cautioning that a portion of the Thruway between the McLean Avenue Bridge and southern city line will see lane closures due to the reported water condition on the highway.

Commuters have been warned to use extra caution while traveling through the area. Work is expected on the water main break between midnight and 5 a.m. on Friday morning.

Motorists have been asked to avoid the area, if possible. Delays are expected until repair work is completed.
